Different sorts of systems or units are used to measure the yarn count or yarn number, which mostly depend on the material used for preparing the yarn and the area where it was manufactured.
All the systems of counting can be grouped into the following categories;
- Analytical System &
- Instrumental System.
Analytical System
Actually, this process consists of some other systems based on several calculations, and this is why it is called an Analytical system. The systems include;

- Indirect System
Instrumental System
