 What is 4-point system?

4-Point System:

               4-point system, a standard established under ASTM D5430 – 07(2011),is a standardized test methods for fabric visually inspecting and grading. The final purpose is to find out the defects of the fabric in per 100 square yards.

4-point system.

Fabric defects are assigned point based on the followings:

  Size of defect                                                         Points

 Up to 3 inches                                                         1

Above 3 up to 6 inches                                            2 

Above 6 up to 9 inches                                            3

Over 6 inches                                                          4
